4-27-08 More Unsettled Weather |

I was part of a 2 boat group today and the weather hit us again. Our first stop netted us a few big trout, but then the weather came in. Strong north winds and heavy rain ended the day early for us. |

Today I had Jack Goldstien and his girlfiend Kim from Wyoming. I fished with them in the fall and it was awesome, but the weather wasn't kind to us today. We did manage some decent fish, but the numbers weren't there. Kim caught a nice flounder early and then the bite dropped off for a while. We ended up with 5 fish and we had to work hard to get them. |

50 Years and Still Fishing 4-19-08 |

Gene Forester celebrated 50 years of marriage today by catching the biggest trout of his life. His wife was kind enough to send him fishing today and we had a good trout bite early. The croaker are still very small, but in the right areas, they are producing nice trout. It was a short day so he could get back to his lovely wife, but we did catch several big trout before we got off the water. |

There was a steady 30 mph wind this morning, but Ralph Allen and his party wanted to try it anyways. Ralph made the most of it with a solid 28 inch redfish that was a perfect tournament fish. Candy caught a nice flounder, but then it slowed down. We missed a few good strikes before making a run to another area that had been producing reds. Ralph hit another red and another nice flounder before we called it quits. |

Today I moved south and the switch was good. It was blowing a steady 30 mph south wind, but we found some cover and scratched some really nice reds. William Elliot and his daughter Lisa kept me laughing all day. She hadn't been fishing since she was 5, but you couldn't tell at all. She landed her limit of solid reds and Dad caught a few also. Given the conditions, we had a pretty successful day. Tomorrow looks to be challenging wind the same winds and higher gusts. Looks like it will be time to hide from the wind again. |

I had some of my regular clients today and the conditions were rough. It was windy and the water was very DIRTY!! I think chocolate milk was clearer than the water was today. We fished all over the place, but it was a tough day. We had 3 keeper fish at the end of the day and I was thankful to find those. All the other guides I know that were out today struggled. Tim's kids are a lot of fun on the boat. Avery wanted to go faster and faster. She is only 8, but she did great today. Christian is 11 and I think I spoiled him on our last trip to San Antonio Bay. |
