This has been one of the best summers I can remember. The trout are still here, but it is taking a few more anchors to get all of them. The has been a few days that we could get to the surf and it was fantastic. 30 or 40 trout by 10:00 or so. When I haven't been in the surf, I've still been in deeper water catching good mixed boxes. Lots o f sand trout, a few blacktips, some big mangrove snapper and a red or 2 over 35 inches on every trip. These big oversized reds are a ton of fun to catch on light tackle. We're catching them while we are trout fishing. Most of them have been on the CPR plan. Catch, Photo, Release! August has had lots of options for us and we have made the best of it. I am looking forward to the fall redfish run which is right around the corner. Don't miss it!
