COLD SPELL! Most of the coast was hammered with the most severe cold we have had in decades. The was a closure of fishing and of barge traffic to prevent a fish kill. After the front, I was out looking for dead fish, but didn't see many at all. I had a wading trip in Baffin and we never saw a single dead fish on the trip. We covered a lot of water and limited out back to back days on reds. The black drum were so thick in Baffin, we caught our limit on gulps. The down side was that we never caught any big trout. Fishing in Rockport has been steady for drum. The bull drum run is right around the corner. These big fish will be in the 30-50 LB. range. Come on down and catch a giant fish on light tackle.
