Well, the reds stuck around. We had limits on almost every trip this month. A few back to back days, we caught over 40 reds each day. I have started to fish up North on the right conditions and it has been good also. Lots of drum early and then 10 to 15 trout to go with it. Everywhere from Aransas Bay to San Antonio Bay has been good. We finished the month in Corpus with 22 specs, 19 BIG sand trout and 4 oversize reds (38+ inches). This year has been FANTASTIC! The rain helped out a lot, but I also think the conservation efforts on the reds are starting to pay off. Next month is my favorite month of the year to fish. It is usually red hot for reds and drum. Hunting season is right around the corner and I'm ready to pull the trigger as well. If you get a chance, the winter months can offer some of the best fishing we have to offer.
